The Bermuda Waterfall

This hike will be the end of me....the latest attempt to find cedarcreek falls ended in the same dillusional state of mind that the first attempt left me in. I swear this trail is cursed, for me anyway. Things just don't seem to go right when on this trail. Last time, Dom and I got so turned around, and lost...we ended up at the top of the falls, and were too exhausted from the heat to continue and find the trail that leads to the pool. This time I thought for sure, I'd know where the heck I was going. It's all the kids and senior citizens you pass on your way...makes you feel over confident...hey, if they can do it, it'll be cake for us right? Apparently not...not even with Addie the hiking specialist and her faithful dog Sam. Sam...poor, poor Sam. It must have been 98 degrees that day...whos idea was it to going hiking during indian summer in the desert mtns? So friggin hot!!! So hot that the poor dog burnt the pads off the bottoms of her feet. I know...I didn't know that was even possible. We felt terrible after the fact. Didn't actually know what was wrong with Sammy Jane, she just didn't want to get up. There were no physical signs of injury at that point, so we thought she was just being lazy. She refused to get up. At one point Addie tried to put her in her pack...Ha! Can you picture it? A full grown lab in a backpacking pack...umm yea not quite gonna fit. Finally, we're gettin somewhere...but easy down is not easy up. You see the hike back is all incline, and it gets steeper and steeper the further you go...Son of a...It's the never ending trail I tell you. Every time you think your there, there's another bend in the trail. The kicker is that you can see the car from miles away so you think your close but not really and we're no longer wearing socks cause we donated them to the Sammy. She needed them more at the moment. Homemade apple pie, didn't even do much to cheer us up. Not sure if I'm gonna attempt this trail again, but if I do, I'll be sure to let you know how it turns out.
