Koenji
I've already botched the order of things, but hopefully it went something like this.
-Arrived as a zombie and instantly hit the funkdafied streets of Harajuku, saw the light of the westerly winds...I can't remember where we ate??
-Crashed with a boy I just met..(no it's not what you think, you dirty people you)
-Got lost in Tokyo, the new south exit at Shinjuku is the spot to be.
-Got lost in Tokyo. Met with Japan friends for an Okinawan dinner, good times, good beer
-Got lost in Tokyo...internet cafes rock!
-Went to Ito Coast for Scuba diving (all in Japanese!!) Props to the girls, I would've been scared shit-less if it were my first time. Onto a BBQ, and being eaten alive by mosquitoes.
-Back towards Tokyo, to Ueno Park. The heat and humidity really started to kick in, so we took refuge in the museum.
-Went to an Otaku cafe...most interesting and strange.
-Salsa dancing in Roppongi, where we met the most pimpa-li-cious breed of Cuban and Japanese. No mistake, he was latin!
-Met Naoko and friends in Kyoto for temple sightseeing and some good old Japanese shaved iced, Karaoke, and an unexpected tennis match.
-Stayed at a co-ed hostel (interesting), and a Japanese style hostel the next night, where I met a new pen pal from S. Korea
-Back to Tokyo to meet up with westerly winds for our trek north to Sendai. Where the weather was much like California. Took a boat around Matashima Bay, checked out the beach, took a trail hike to a waterfall, reminiscent of Montezuma Falls in CR. The silliness began here, followed by a downpour that left little to the imagination of what I look like naked. (damn white pants) On to the ongsen where the real nakedness began again. Ummm, Indian food. Ocean's 13 and 14th empowered us on the train back to Tokyo.
-Played hookie and ran off to the white sand beaches of Japan. There was an episode of Ocean's 15th on the way back.
-Shabu-Shabu is expensive-expensive
-Got lost in translation and visited the Hyatt
-Somewhere in between here and there, there was a lot of Indian food. =D
(sorry for the coded recap, for those curious enough..you know how to de-code)
